I bought my first song on PureTracks today. Green Day released the title track to their American Idiot album, to the world via all online retailers today. I think it’s pretty cool that as Canadians we get the benefit of the Canadian dollar because it’s only 99cents in Canadian and 99 cents for Americans in American currency. I didn’t like the fact that you have to use Internet Explorer to get into PureTracks, however I think it’s better than iTunes where you have to use their client to get into the thing.
Since my mp3 player doesn’t support licensing, I had to burn the song to a CD and then rip it back into an mp3 so that I’d be able to have my song join the rest of my collection. I don’t think I was supposed to do that, but I paid for the damn song, so I want to be able to listen to it.
