Autopsy conducted on victim of beating
By Free Press staff
An autopsy was conducted yesterday on a 26-year-old man killed in a fight outside an Oxford Street East bar early Saturday.
London police say they have no further information on the suspect, a large, stocky man who punched Ryan Vlaad in the head, causing him to fall and strike his head on the pavement in a strip mall parking lot at 1165 Oxford St. E., outside the Roxbury Pub and Grill.
“There are a number of people the investigators are trying to locate for interviews,” said Staff Sgt. Paul Kerkhof.
Police say the investigation is complicated because about 100 people were milling around about 2:30 a.m. when the incident happened and other fights had broken out.
Vlaad lived in London, but was a native of Espanola, west of Sudbury.
His death was London’s second homicide of the year.
