Tom put one of my servers on his network so that I can have an outside secondary name and mail server. It seems to be working pretty well and I just wrote a script that takes the local-host-names files from each of my other mail servers and builds the appropriate relay-domains and mailertable files for that machine. So I took down my whitelist, because I wanted to see what spam I would actually get with this new version of SpamAssassin. The only spam I’m getting now is where the sender isn’t giving out his web site or email. I got one with a phone number and another pointing me to msn’s stock site to buy his stock. Spam volume is definately down accross the board.
I updated my spam filters today. The latest version of SpamAssassin includes code to check any addresses (URI) against a bunch of blacklists like SpamHaus.
