Search is good, but… Apparently Apple is abandoning folders on their Tiger OS and moving to a searchable interface that’s highly efficient. Personally, for the contents of my documents folders, I could care less how I get to it, but if I’m developing someone’s site, I want a local directory structure that looks just like what’s online. Maybe I just have old-world thought processes or something. Take Gmail for instance; no folders, just flags and searching. It’s efficient, but I like to clean out my inbox and file messages, but that step is un-necessary with Gmail. Just move it to saved and if you need it again, search for it. Maybe my problem lies in the faith in searches. Searching based on the contents of a file in Windows sucks at best.
